Kannada actor Darshan and his girlfriend Pavithra Gowda were sent back to prison after the Supreme Court cancelled the bail earlier granted by the High Court. Darshan is in Bengaluru Central Jail, while Pavithra is in a women’s prison. It has been three days since their re-arrest.
Reports claim Darshan skipped the Independence Day celebrations inside the jail on Friday. Sources revealed he stayed awake the entire night and looked disturbed. Former JDS MP Prajwal Revanna, also lodged there in criminal cases, did not attend the celebrations either.
Darshan’s mental health has long been a worry. Psychiatrists suggested that his anger and temper may have played a role in the murder case. With his bail suddenly cancelled, he is once again said to be facing stress and emotional pressure inside jail.
Amid this tense atmosphere, actress Ramya shared a strong social media post. She wrote that all are equal before the law, no one should take the law into their own hands, and justice will prevail. Her words went viral, sparking debates among fans about whether she supported Darshan or spoke in general.
This case began with the murder of Renukaswamy, for which Darshan, Pavithra, and others have been accused. Allegations state Darshan attacked him for sending obscene messages to Pavithra. Police say they have strong evidence. Though the High Court earlier granted bail, the police challenged it, and now the Supreme Court cancellation has left Darshan’s future uncertain.
