Even the creators of the Spiderverse probably didn’t see this coming. Two people dressed up as Spider-Man variants were seen taking road safety rules in their hands and thus putting their lives on the line.
The two delinquents are Aditya and Anjali of Nafgarh, who dressed up as the characters from the recently released Spider-verse movie. Aditya took up the threads of Spider-Man, Peter Parker, while Anjali took up the character of the ghost spider, also known as Spider-Gwen.
The two are charged with overspeeding and breaking safety rules. The video of their “joyride” has gone viral, and the internet is now full of memes. The internet has taken a flip on the image of “Spiderman” and “Gwen Stacy” getting arrested. The netizens are making statements like “even Spider-Man is not above law. And how even Spider-Man is not safe from Delhi police.
Any act like this should be condemned. The fact that the culprit did it in the costume of a symbol that upholds the law is a bad example. It was also a bad example of people using cheap tactics to gain a couple of likes and comments. The sheer danger that the couple has put themselves and others around them in is to be disregarded.
