Global Corruption

The result of the Global Corruption Index 2023 is out. The report prepared by Transparency International ranks countries on the basis of scores i.e. from highest to lowest score.

India was placed at 93rd place with a score of 39, a position below from 2022. A total of 180 countries were ranked, Somalia being the most corrupt with a score of mere 13.

Corruption has been a challenge for all the countries worldwide and India too. There have been attempts at decreasing the incidents of corruption but not much have been achieved.

This list only reflects a part of the problem. The real struggle is to take it seriously and work on fixing it, rather than criticizing it for lack of transparency and prejudice against non-Western countries.
