Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi’s cousin, Asif Qureshi, lost his life in a shocking incident on Thursday night in Delhi’s Nizamuddin area after a dispute over parking. The incident happened between 10 and 10:30 pm outside Asif’s residence in Jangpura Bhogal Lane.
Police reports and statements from family members revealed that Asif had asked two neighbours, brothers Gautam (18) and Ujjwal (19), to move their scooter as it was blocking the entrance to his house. What began as a simple request soon turned into a heated exchange. The brothers allegedly hurled abuses at him, left the spot, and returned armed with sharp weapons.
CCTV footage from the scene shows the verbal argument quickly turning into a violent assault. Both accused can be seen attacking Asif while his wife, Sainaz Qureshi, desperately tried to shield him. During the attack, the assailants held him down and stabbed him multiple times in the chest with an ice-pick.
Severely injured, Asif was rushed to the hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival. Police have confirmed the arrest of both attackers and stated that there had been previous disputes between them and Asif over parking issues. The murder weapon has also been recovered.
The killing has left locals and family members in deep shock, with many demanding strict action against the accused. Huma Qureshi, who has strong ties to Delhi, has not yet issued a public statement on the tragedy. The investigation into the case is still underway.
