Amazon and Microsoft announced a $52.5 billion investment for India, and you now see both companies placing strong focus on Hyderabad. Microsoft plans a new hyperscale region with six data centers, while Amazon is building a $7 billion data center in the city. Google, Microsoft and Amazon already have their largest campuses outside the US within a one-kilometre radius in Hyderabad.
Amazon will expand its cloud data center footprint in Hyderabad across 14 years. This follows its upgrade from the earlier $2.7 billion plan to $4.4 billion by 2030 for the AWS Asia Pacific Region. Satya Nadella also confirmed Microsoft’s $17.5 billion investment by 2030 for AI-focused infrastructure. The six data centers are planned in Kothur, Shadnagar and Chandanvelli, turning Hyderabad into a major global data hub.
