In a shocking incident that happened in Hyderabad, a Rapido rider demanded Rs 30K from a techie while keeping ahold of his laptop.
Going into the story, Ashwin Kumar, a resident of Veer Nagar, Khairatabad booked a transit on Rapido to send his laptop from his residence to his company at ICICI Towers, Financial District. A Rapido driver named Srimanth collected the laptop from his residence.
However, Ashwin was met with a major shocker after Srimanth called minutes after picking up the package and demanded Rs 30,000 to deliver it to the location. The Rapido rider reportedly threatened to erase the memory on the laptop and damage it if his demands arent met.
The victim tried to negotiate with the Rapido rider but the latter was reluctant and kept demanding the money.
Shocked by the incident, the victim filed a complaint at Masabtank police station. A case has been registered and the police are on the search for the the Rapido Rider in question.
