Jaspreet Oberoi was the mastermind behind the theft of railway tracks worth billions of pounds. His company JSJ Metal Recycling Ltd. stole railway tracks and sold them as scrap metals for years harming the railway’s ecosystem as well as ruining the tax payer’s money. 40-year-old Jaspreet was one of the 7 convicts who were sent to Sheffield Crown Court as they were actively involved in the thefts of railway tracks.

He has been sentenced to 30 months in prison for stealing train track rails but there was no sign of remorse present in him for his deeds. On 125 occasions they have planned and stolen railway tracks, which approximately amounts to billions of pounds. The essential safety of passengers which was risked due to their greed and ill intentions was completely disregarded by them in the trials.

In the year 2016, they stole train tracks between March and November and they were transported to JSJ Metal Recycling Ltd. From there they sold them as scrap metals gaining huge profits.
Oberoi, Collins, and others were convicted after going through several trials. Their sentences ranged from 12 months to 30 months in prison and some were suspended for 2 years.
