Actress and influencer, Khushi Mukherjee has recently caused a stir owing to her public appearance in a tiny gold dress that many people considered was “semi-naked”.
Well known for her roles in Heart Attack and Balveer Returns, her publicity stunt has sparked an online controversy as people call her out for seeking popularity through provocation and garnering “cheap attention”
Social media erupted with criticism with some users even demanding action from Mumbai Police and government authorities, while others are defending her right to self expression.
Mukherjee hasn’t been shy of bold attires or photoshoots, she has been using sensuality for clout for a long time.
Critics argue her actions have disrespected values of public decency, citing a similar case from Indore in 2024 where a woman was charged with legal action for semi-nude content creation.
For now, no action has been reported against Mukherjee, however, her defenders called this as double standards noting , male influencers rarely face such scrutiny.
This controversy points to bigger issues within the content creation profession where the pressure on influencers to push boundaries to stay relevant and the lack of clear guidelines on public conduct lead to such outrages from time to time.
Although her daring appearance fits with her brand, it also runs the danger of offending fans and public alike who’re just waiting to jump on opportunities to thrash anyone who doesn’t fit in their worldview.
What is the need of wearing even this much if she has to conceal her things with her hands only?pic.twitter.com/DRICiwQ142
