Student Commits Suicide In JNTU: Hyderabad

JNTU Hyderabad campus tragic incident

A tragic incident took place at JNTU Hyderabad on Friday afternoon. Mahesh, a third-year student from a thanda near Sirigonda village in Mothe mandal, Suryapet district, was found dead in his hostel room.

Mahesh had not attended classes for three days and stayed back in his room. On Friday, after his roommates left, he locked the door from inside and took his life.

When his friends returned during lunch, they found the room locked and discovered Mahesh hanging. They immediately informed the college staff, who rushed him to a nearby hospital. Doctors declared him dead on arrival.

A suicide note was reportedly recovered and handed over to university authorities. However, its contents have not been made public yet, leaving the reasons behind his death unclear.

Loneliness and emotional stress continue to affect many young people in urban India. Despite awareness campaigns, student suicides are still on the rise. Experts say that open conversations, timely counseling, and support from friends and family can save lives.
