A disturbing incident from Krishna district shocked many. Ajay Kumar, a police constable working as jeep driver for the Kankipadu Rural CI, was caught on video dancing indecently with a woman while small children stood nearby.
The videos spread across social media and triggered strong public anger. Senior officers have ordered an inquiry. The concern grows because children witnessed the act at close range, without understanding what they were seeing.
A child’s mind absorbs everything like a clean slate. Early exposure shapes behaviour and decisions later. The fact that a police officer displayed such conduct openly is troubling, especially when his job is to prevent such behaviour.
Even if Ajay Kumar faces suspension or dismissal, the bigger worry is the impact on the children. They require counselling and guidance to understand right and wrong. Without support, such scenes risk normalising unhealthy behaviour and attitudes towards women.
Strict action against the officer is necessary, but it is not enough. The children who witnessed the incident must receive counselling. Society must protect young minds and prevent early exposure from turning into long-term damage.
