Drishyam-Style Murder in Mumbai: Wife Buries Husband Under Floor After Brutal Killing
In a shocking Drishyam-style murder from Nalasopara, Mumbai, a woman allegedly killed her husband and buried his body under the floor of their home.
The victim, 32-year-old Vijay Chauhan, had been missing for over two weeks.
According to police, the murder was premeditated. Investigators revealed that the wife, Chaman Devi, had allegedly arranged for a pit to be dug inside the house nearly 12 days before the crime — a chilling similarity to the plot of the Bollywood thriller Drishyam.
Vijay’s family grew suspicious after they lost contact with him. When they visited his home, they noticed fresh floor tiles in one room, raising alarm.
The police were informed, and during a search, a decomposed body was recovered from beneath the new tiles. It was later confirmed to be Vijay Chauhan.
Chaman Devi is currently absconding, along with a 20-year-old man suspected to be her lover. Police believe the two were in a relationship and plotted the murder together to eliminate Vijay and cover up the evidence.
A neighbour, who was reportedly close to the family, has also vanished, prompting police to investigate his possible involvement in the crime.
The murder, believed to have taken place inside the house, was concealed by burying the body and laying new tiles over the spot to hide all traces.
The local community is in disbelief, shaken by the cold-blooded nature of the crime. Police have registered a case of murder and launched a manhunt for the absconding suspects.
Forensic teams are analyzing the crime scene for further evidence. Authorities have urged the public to come forward with any information.
This case highlights growing concerns over hidden abuse and the deadly consequences of domestic disputes spiraling out of control.
