YouTuber Nandana, known for her channel Nandu’s World, was arrested at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and taken to Ibrahimpatnam police station in NTR district, Vijayawada.
Nandana and her husband are facing allegations of cheating people in the name of overseas jobs. Several victims reportedly approached the police, following which a case was registered at Ibrahimpatnam police station.
After the allegations came to light, Nandana and her husband reportedly went into hiding. Andhra Pradesh police then issued a Lookout Circular (LOC) against them.
Nandana later returned to India alone on a British Airways flight. She landed at Hyderabad airport on Monday. During the immigration check, officials examined her passport and visa documents and found the LOC against her.
The immigration officials took Nandana into custody and handed her over to Ibrahimpatnam police. She was later brought to the police station for questioning as part of the investigation.
Police are now questioning Nandana over the complaints and the alleged overseas job fraud. The case is still under investigation, and the allegations against Nandana and her husband have not been proven in court.
The development has attracted attention because of Nandana’s popularity on YouTube. What started as complaints from people claiming they were cheated over overseas jobs has now turned into a police case, with Nandana being taken into custody after returning to India.
The investigation will now determine what actually happened and who was responsible.
