The Indian community in Dubai, mostly hailing from Kerala has been under fire for praising and welcoming Pakistan ex-cricketers Shahid Afridi and Umar Gul while pausing their own event.
Most of the people stopped their celebrations and gave a hearty and warm welcome to both personas while Shahid Afridi praised the Kerala crowd, expressing his ‘inborn love’ for the state.
Ironically, this was the same Shahid Afridi who was quite vocal when India was teaching Pakistan a lesson in the form of Operation Sindoor.
Afridi became the front and centre face of the operation, voicing Pakistan’s false propaganda while conducting rallies on behalf of the Pakistani regime.
This incident has led to massive backlash for these NRIs, who did not think twice before abandoning their loyalty to the nation to welcome someone who had criticised India for its rightful response against the brutal and cowardly murder of innocent tourists in Pahalgam.
