The boy reportedly had no idea about his mother’s online work, which she promoted on Twitter. He suffered a panic attack after school bullies circulated the images. When questioned, the mother allegedly compared sex work to a regular bank job.
This incident is not isolated. Similar stories continue to surface where online content crosses into children’s offline lives. Platforms like OnlyFans thrive on visibility, but families often bear the emotional and psychological consequences.
While creators have the right to choose their source of income, dismissing a child’s trauma raises serious concerns. School environments and peer behaviour worsen the impact, turning private decisions into lasting public humiliation.
As the gig economy grows, parents must consider mental health before online exposure. Better awareness and privacy safeguards may help, but responsibility begins at home. Online freedom does not cancel real world consequences.
