Fans of Tamil actor Thalapathy Vijay have damaged seats at Chennai’s Rohini Theatre during a special screening of the ‘Leo’ trailer.
Hundreds of fans gathered eagerly to watch their favorite superstar on screen, but their excitement escalated into chaos.
After the event, theater owners discovered completely broken seats and a messy hall strewn with colored papers, as depicted in videos and photos shared on social media.
The behavior of these fans has been criticized as “pathetic,” given the efforts theater owners put into organizing such celebratory events.
Earlier in the day, fans had eagerly gathered outside the theatre, waiting for doors to open and sharing videos from inside the packed theatre, where they enthusiastically cheered for Vijay.
Videos of Vijay fans causing havoc at Rohini Theatre surfaced after the police refused security for an outdoor launch event. Police expressed concerns and recommended conducting the event within the theatre complex, where they could provide security.
Touted to be a remake of A History Of Violence, ‘Leo’ is an action thriller starring Vijay, Trisha, Arjun Sarja, Gautham Menon, and Sanjay Dutt. Lokesh Kanagaraj directed it, Anirudh Ravichander composed the music.
