Praneeth Hanumanthu To Chanchalguda Jail

Noted YouTuber Praneeth Hanumanthu who triggered controversy after his comments over a video went viral on social media is now arrested. Already, the Telangana police officials nabbed him in Bangalore. After completing all legal formalities, he was brought to Hyderabad today.

The CCS cops of Hyderabad have taken Praneeth into their custody from Bangalore police and took him to Nampally court today. After hearing the case, the court ordered for a 14-day remand for Praneeth.

He was sent to the Chanchalguda Jail in the city. The police have filed four sections against Praneeth. He was booked under ⁠Section 67B of the IT Act (Information Technology Act), POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act), Section 79 of the IT Act and Section 294 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The entire social media was enraged over Praneeth for making obscene comments about a video featuring a little girl.

The administrations of both Telugu states also took the matter seriously and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy himself has responded to the issue personally.

Yesterday, Praneeth’s brother Ajay Hanumanthu who is known as Aye Jude posted a video online condemning the behaviour of Praneeth and also mentioned that he is not someone who would consume content of that sort.

Since Praneeth’s father was an IAS officer, there was hesitance initially if the police would arrest Praneeth. However, he had been arrested and it is a victory for all social media users who raised their voices and fought for his arrest.
