Man Runs Over by Train for Viral Stunt

In a shocking incident from Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, a young man was arrested after performing an extremely dangerous stunt by lying down on a railway track while a speeding train passed over him.

All this was done for a reel on social media. The video, which quickly went viral, shows the youth lying flat on the tracks with arms outstretched as a superfast train rushes overhead. Miraculously, he escaped unhurt.

The incident took place near Kushumbi railway station. Authorities from the Government Railway Police (GRP) Unnao acted swiftly once the video surfaced online. The youth, estimated to be around 20–22 years old, was identified through social media and taken into custody within hours.

GRP Inspector Ajay Singh stated, “This is a highly dangerous and illegal act. The individual has been booked under Sections 147 (unauthorized entry into railway premises) and 145 (creating nuisance) of the Indian Railways Act.” He has been sent to judicial custody as further investigation continues.

Railway officials noted that had the youth moved even slightly or had there been any deviation in the train’s speed, the stunt could have turned fatal. The railway department has condemned such actions and announced strict surveillance and zero tolerance towards anyone misusing railway property for such stunts.

Experts suggest that the obsession with likes and views is driving youth towards reckless behavior. Psychologists refer to this as a form of “dopamine addiction,” where social media validation becomes a compulsion.
