In a surprising turn of events, Prime Video’s premier show Panchayat seems to have been enacted in real life, as a viral call recording revealed RJD MLA Bhai Virendra threatening a panchayat secretary.
The controversy erupted when the sachiv failed to recognize the MLA over the phone, which further infuriated him. During the call, Bhai Virendra was heard angrily threatening to hit the sachiv with a shoe.
The situation escalated when the secretary, much like the show’s lead character, stood his ground. He told the MLA that respect must be earned, not demanded. The sachiv openly said he was not afraid of political threats and urged the MLA to focus on actual governance rather than asserting his authority.
As the conversation turned more aggressive, the MLA asked about the secretary’s hometown while continuing to issue warnings. Internet users quickly drew parallels with the Panchayat series, dubbing the sachiv as Abhishek Tripathi and comparing the MLA to the show’s character played by Chandrakishore Singh.
The video has since gained traction for its uncanny resemblance to rural political scenes portrayed in Panchayat, offering viewers what felt like a live episode of the series. What began as a political call has now sparked a larger conversation about power dynamics in local governance, all while drawing both outrage and ironic amusement from the public.
