In a disturbing incident from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, a woman police officer of CSP rank reportedly instructed police personnel to slap her own father in public, triggering widespread outrage and concern over misuse of power.
The incident took place inside a local police station, where eyewitnesses say the officer pointed to an elderly man and said, “He is my father, slap him.” A constable then slapped the man, who had reportedly devoted his life to educating his daughter and supporting her journey into the police force.
The moment was caught on camera and widely circulated online, sparking public anger and questions about moral judgment within the police.
This controversy comes amid a serious family dispute involving the same officer, SDOP Khyati Mishra, and her husband, Tehsildar Shailendra Bihari Sharma, in Damoh.
Sharma has accused Kotwali police of assaulting his family at the CSP bungalow under alleged influence from Damoh SP Abhijeet Ranjan.
In her defense, Mishra claims years of domestic abuse, emotional harassment, and pressure to resign.
She says she has been separated from her son for over a month and accuses Sharma of turning the child against her. Sharma denies the allegations, accusing SP Ranjan of manipulating his wife. He has submitted audio recordings of alleged threats and warned of drastic steps if authorities fail to act.
No official statement has been released yet, but calls for investigation and disciplinary action are mounting. Social activists and human rights groups are urging swift action to restore public trust in law enforcement.
