A government employee’s rant has been going viral, capturing the attention of everyone on social media.
The employee, who claims to be a civil servant, having cleared his UPSC examination with the same level of pay as an IAS officer, came forward to say how he is not at all satisfied with his job.

He claimed his salary to be Rs.1 Lakh per month without taxes, with an increment of over 20% in 5 years. He compared this to the salaries of his other friends in IT, who, on average, are getting almost 100% increment in their package, working in reputed companies like NVIDIA, Qualcomm, etc.
He also complained about the poor conditions of government quarters, further highlighting how his salary can’t even get him a 1BHK flat in Mumbai or Bengaluru.

While this is true, it is also necessary to understand the true purpose of the civil services. The job of a civil servant can’t be compared with that of a techie, as civil servants have the responsibility of the country on their shoulders.
Apart from that, one can’t complain too much about the extensive job security that comes with government jobs, one that private sector employees would trade in a heartbeat.
