A massive fire broke out at Annapurna Girls Hostel in Greater Noida’s Knowledge Park-3 area on Thursday evening, forcing students to flee in fear. The fire reportedly started due to an air conditioner compressor explosion and spread quickly, trapping several students.
A viral video shows two girls stranded on a balcony, trying to escape. A rescue attempt was made using a ladder, but it only reached one floor below them. Instead of waiting for further help, they tried to climb down on their own.

The first girl lost her grip, slipped, and fell hard, likely breaking her jaw along with other injuries. The second girl, however, showed more patience, carefully climbing down using an air conditioning unit and managing to escape unhurt.
Despite the severity of the situation, people are casually sharing the video online as if it’s just another viral clip, rather than a serious incident highlighting poor fire safety measures.

More concerning is the reckless decision to jump hastily, which could have been avoided. The first rule in such emergencies is to stay calm and assess the safest way out. Panic only worsens the situation, leading to avoidable critical injuries.
Firefighters eventually controlled the blaze, and authorities are now investigating whether proper fire safety measures were in place.
