While conversations around women’s rights and abuse have rightly advanced, men who face humiliation or emotional abuse are often ignored, mocked, or told to “man up.”

If the roles were reversed, public outrage would be immediate. But since the victim is a man, the incident is viewed with indifference or even amusement. This double standard points to a harsh truth: men are expected to suffer in silence, and their value is judged solely by their income.
Struggling to earn is not a crime. Publicly shaming someone for it is. A relationship built on respect cannot involve public slaps, insults, or humiliation, regardless of gender.
