Train Delay Sparks Safety Concerns

A disturbing video from Mumbai has gone viral, showing women dangerously hanging onto the outside of a moving local train.

The train in question, the Kalyan Ladies Special, was delayed by 40 minutes, reportedly causing severe overcrowding at the station and prompting some commuters to take extreme risks to reach their destinations.

In the video, several women are seen clinging to the footboard of the train as it travels between Kalyan and Mumbai CST.

One woman can be heard screaming while another appears to shy away from the camera. The visuals have triggered widespread concern over passenger safety and the state of public transportation in the city.

The incident has drawn attention to the challenges faced by daily commuters in Mumbai, especially during peak hours. With limited availability and frequent delays, many are left with no option but to risk their lives to make it to work on time.

Following the circulation of the video, the railway authorities responded and confirmed that the issue has been referred to the appropriate officials. They also stated that an investigation has been initiated.

People online have expressed frustration at the recurring delays and overcrowding on Mumbai’s local trains. Some have urged for a large-scale expansion of the suburban railway network, while others called for the introduction of more AC trains with automatic doors to enhance safety.
