In a shocking incident from Gauribazar in Deoria district, a village head (gram pradhan) publicly beat a man with a rod and stick over a money-related issue.
The victim is the husband of an ASHA worker. The entire incident was captured on CCTV, and the video has now gone viral on social media.

According to reports, the village head, Ramdin Gautam, attacked the man named Vidhesi Prasad with slaps, a rod, and a stick. A large crowd gathered at the spot, but no one dared to stop the assault due to fear of the pradhan.
The victim’s wife, Nirmala Devi, who works as an ASHA worker, said that her husband works outside the village and sends money home. He used to send the money to his elder brother Rekha Prasad’s bank account. When Vidhesi returned home, he found out that all the money had been given to the village head by his brother.

This led to an argument between Vidhesi and his brother. Later in the evening, the village head and another man reached Vidhesi’s house. They used abusive language and beat him badly. The viral video shows the pradhan using violence while others stood by and watched.
After the video spread online, the police took action. Based on a complaint by Vidhesi, a case has been registered against the village head Ramdin Gautam and another person named Madan Lal.

Meanwhile, the police have detained the pradhan for questioning. ASP Arvind Kumar Verma confirmed that a case has been filed and further action will follow.
