Renowned educationist Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, has come under intense social media scrutiny after a photo of his wife from their wedding reception went viral.
In the image, Khan Sir’s wife is seen under a traditional ghoonghat (veil), triggering a wave of criticism online.

Khan Sir, who runs a popular coaching institute and is known for his strong online presence and progressive views on education and social issues, had kept his marriage a secret until recently.
In a video released on Monday, he explained that due to ongoing India-Pakistan tensions, he had chosen not to publicize the wedding, though he wished to postpone it. His parents had already made arrangements, so he went ahead with the marriage.

While many extended their congratulations, others were quick to express disappointment over his wife being seen under a veil.
Some users questioned whether the image contradicted the progressive values Khan Sir often speaks about in his videos. Comments like “Education cannot change people’s mindset” and “A teacher can only give speeches but not lead by example” were seen across platforms.

One user wrote, “What is he teaching the youth? He talks about women’s freedom, but hides his own wife under a veil in extreme heat on her special day.”
The criticism came despite the presence of high-profile guests at the reception, including Bihar’s Leader of the Opposition, Tejashwi Yadav.
