Elon Musk’s platform X (formerly Twitter) has slashed the prices of its subscription plans in India by up to 48%.

The new rates apply to all three tiers — Basic, Premium, and Premium+ — making them more affordable for Indian users. The biggest price drop is seen in the Premium and Premium+ plans.

The Basic plan now costs Rs. 170 per month on mobile and Rs. 141.67 per month on the web. The annual web plan has also been reduced from Rs. 2,591 to Rs. 1,700.

This plan includes features like editing posts, writing longer posts, bookmark folders, and a small boost in replies.

The Premium plan is now priced at Rs. 470 per month on the app (down from Rs. 900) and Rs. 427 on the web.

It offers all basic features plus a verification checkmark, half the ads, bigger reply boost, access to X’s AI chatbot Grok, X Pro tools, post analytics, and monetization options for eligible users.

The Premium+ plan, which offers the most features, now costs Rs. 3,000 per month on mobile and Rs. 2,200 on the web.

It is completely ad-free and includes the highest reply boost, access to SuperGrok, article writing tools, trending alerts (Radar), and early access to new features.

Web subscriptions are still cheaper than mobile ones because they avoid app store fees. With these price cuts, more users in India are expected to switch to paid plans.

This move is likely aimed at increasing X’s subscriber base and improving engagement in one of its fastest-growing markets.
