Aaryavir Sehwag and Anvay Dravid have been selected in India’s U19 squad for the upcoming One Day series against Australia U19.
Aaryavir is the son of former India opener Virender Sehwag, while Anvay is the son of former India captain and head coach Rahul Dravid. Both will now be part of the same India U19 dressing room.
Aaryavir has been picked in the One Day squad, while Anvay has been selected as a wicketkeeper batter.
Aaryavir has already scored some big scores in domestic age group cricket. He scored 297 off 309 balls for Delhi U19 against Meghalaya in the Cooch Behar Trophy in 2024. He also scored 496 runs in the 2025 edition of the tournament.
Anvay has also been performing well. He scored 87 off 67 balls against Sri Lanka U19 in July. His innings came after India were 81/4, and he helped the team recover with a 145 run partnership with Arjun Rajput.
He had earlier scored 220 runs in six innings in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy. So, both youngsters have already had strong performances at age group level before getting this opportunity.
The India U19 team will play three One Day matches and two multi day games against Australia U19.
The One Day matches will be played in Rajkot on September 18, 21 and 23. The multi day games will be played in Rajkot from September 27-30 and in Ahmedabad from October 5-8.
The Sehwag and Dravid names will naturally bring extra attention. But can Aaryavir and Anvay now make their own mark in India colours?
