Delhi Capitals got a strong start through KL Rahul and Abhishek Porel. The duo added 105 runs for the first wicket and dominated the early overs. Rahul scored 56 runs while Porel contributed 51, giving the team complete control.
Rajasthan Royals tried to fight back after the opening stand. Jofra Archer removed Sahil Parakh and Tristan Stubbs. Dasun Shanaka dismissed KL Rahul at a crucial stage, while David Miller could not convert his start into a big score.
Axar Patel and Ashutosh Sharma then guided Delhi to victory with a calm finish. Axar remained unbeaten on 34 from 18 balls. Ashutosh scored a quick 18 from five balls and sealed the match with attacking strokes.
Earlier, Rajasthan Royals posted 193 for eight in 20 overs. Riyan Parag scored a quick 51 from 26 balls. Dhruv Jurel added 53 runs, while Vaibhav Suryavanshi made 46 from 21 balls in a strong batting effort.
Mitchell Starc led the bowling attack for Delhi Capitals with four wickets. Lungi Ngidi and Madhav Tiwari picked up two wickets each and helped restrict Rajasthan Royals below the 200 mark.
This defeat has made the playoff race tougher for Rajasthan Royals. They still have two matches left and must win both to stay in contention for qualification.
Delhi Capitals also remain in the race, but their chances depend on other results. With only one match left, even a win may not guarantee qualification in the tight IPL 2026 playoff battle.
