The ICC Test Bowlers’ Rankings are here and they reveal a very grim picture for the Indian side.
Jasprit Bumrah, without a shadow of a doubt, tops the charts by a massive margin of over 50 points over the next bowler in the form of Kagiso Rabada, making him the crowned king without a doubt.
Although the king is ours, the kingdom seems to be ruled by the Aussies. The Australian bowlers completely dominate the top 10 rankings, with 5 out of 9 bowlers coming from the Kangaroo nation.
This is a very problematic scenario for India, as no other Indian bowler is in sight at the top, significantly reducing our team’s confidence to take wickets and will in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah.
The BCCI should take very strict note of this to make sure that the bowling lineup receives the critical and urgent focus it requires from the management.
This will ensure that the Indian team becomes ready for future-proof bowling in a post-Bumrah era that is bound to come knocking in a few years.
