Indian athlete Manu Bhaker who bagged two Bronze medals in the 2024 Olympics was not even nominated for Khel Ratna Awards and citizens are disappointed with the fact.
The Sports Ministry had claimed that Manu Bhaker had not applied for the award. But recently, Bhaker’s father has posted a video that is going viral on social media saying that they actually had applied for the award and the Ministry is lying.
Netizens are assuming there is pure political spite behind this decision. Manu Bhaker met Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi after her return to the country and it seems her political stance is clearly not in favour of the ruling party.
But snubbing her of even the nomination was truly below the belt, at least that is what people are thinking. The frustration of Manu Bhaker’s father is very clearly visible in the video and he was on the verge of crying.
He said, “This country doesn’t deserve Olympic medalists. It is better to play IPL or become politicians/IAS for power.” And netizens are sympathizing with Manu and him and acknowledging the fact that Manu is not getting it because of political reasons.
But Manu Bhaker has shared a recent post that said there might have been some mistake on her part while filing the application and people should not speculate on this matter.
