RCB vs LSG: Vintage Run Machine Back? LSG Collapse

RCB vs LSG IPL 2026 match action

Royal Challengers Bengaluru continued their strong run in IPL 2026 with a 5 wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. This was RCB’s fourth win in five matches, and they are now at the top of the points table.

RCB captain Rajat Patidar won the toss and decided to bowl first, and that decision worked perfectly.

Lucknow Super Giants had a poor start as they lost two early wickets at just 35 runs.

But once the score reached 118, the entire batting unit collapsed. Wickets fell quickly, and Lucknow were all out for 146 in 20 overs.

Mitchell Marsh was the top scorer with 40 runs, but there was no strong support from the rest of the batting.

RCB bowlers controlled the game from the start. Rasikh Salam Dar was the standout performer with 4 wickets, while J. Hazlewood pick 1 wicket, Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up 3 and Krunal Pandya added 2 wickets. They did not allow Lucknow to build any momentum.

Chasing 147, RCB did not get the best start as Phil Salt was dismissed early. Despite, Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal steadied the innings. Padikkal was dismissed for 10, but Kohli continued to play with control and scored 49 runs.

After his dismissal, Rajat Patidar and Jitesh Sharma handled the middle overs well. Even though RCB lost wickets and were 122 for 5 at one stage, the target was never out of reach.

Tim David finished the match with some big shots, helping RCB chase the target in just 16 overs.

With this win, RCB have gone to the top of the IPL 2026 points table. They now have 8 points from five matches, the same as Rajasthan Royals, but with a better net run rate. This result also strengthens their position as defending champions.

Virat Kohli is now the Orange Cap holder in IPL 2026. After the match, he said, “I’m still not done 100 percent fit yet,” but his performance tells a different story.

His 49 in this chase once again showed his importance to the team. He is leading the run charts and looks in strong form this season.

This was a complete performance from RCB. The bowling attack did the job early, and the batting unit finished the chase without much trouble.

For Lucknow Super Giants, this is another worrying result as their batting collapsed under pressure.

RCB, on the other hand, are building momentum and look like one of the strongest teams this season.
