LSG Captain Fitness in Doubt? Big Twist Before IPL

Rishabh Pant fit ahead of IPL 2026

Lucknow Super Giants have received a massive boost ahead of IPL 2026. Captain Rishabh Pant is now fully fit and ready for the new season.

There is still over a month left for the tournament to begin. However, franchises have already stepped up preparations. For LSG, Pant’s recovery is the biggest positive going into the season.

Pant had earlier suffered a rib injury during the recent ODI series against New Zealand. The injury forced him to miss the remaining matches, raising concerns among fans and team management.

The worry was understandable as Rishab Pant is not just the captain but also a key match-winner. His absence would have been a major setback for LSG’s IPL 2026 campaign.

According to reports, Pant has now recovered fully and is match-ready. This confirms that he will once again lead Lucknow Super Giants in the upcoming season. The franchise had already shown strong faith by retaining him before the mini auction.

Pant will also aim to bounce back with the bat. In IPL 2025, he had a mixed season. He scored 269 runs in 14 matches at an average of 24.45, with a strike rate of 133.17 and a best score of an unbeaten 118.

As a team, LSG struggled last season and failed to qualify for the playoffs. They managed only six wins, falling short of expectations despite a strong squad on paper.

With Pant fit and leading from the front, fans will hope for a turnaround. His form and captaincy could prove decisive for LSG’s fortunes in IPL 2026.
