Former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi strongly criticised the Pakistan team after their disappointing performance against Team India last night. The loss triggered intense discussion among fans and former players about the team’s current form.

Afridi suggested that the time has come to drop some of the so called big names from the squad. He believes new and young players should be given opportunities to rebuild the team’s confidence.

He said, “Drop Shaheen, drop Shadab, and drop Babar. They’ve always let us down in crucial big games. Try fresh faces against Namibia and give the new players a chance to build confidence”.

Afridi naming Shaheen, Shadab and Babar openly reflects the seriousness of concerns around Pakistan cricket. Once called the King of Pakistan Cricket, Babar has struggled to deliver impactful T20I innings recently.

Shaheen, known as the team’s premium fast bowler, also had a difficult outing. He conceded heavily in the match, finishing with an economy of 15 in two overs while taking one wicket.

Meanwhile, Indian fans reacted strongly on social media, with many mocking the PCB after the defeat. Some joked that Pakistan should try their U19 players to reduce the margin of defeat.

Pakistan’s next match is scheduled against Namibia on 18th February. Fans and analysts will be watching closely to see whether the team can recover or face another disappointing result.
