T20 WC 2026: Fans Outraged at ICC & BCCI

T20 World Cup 2026 schedule delay sparks outrage

With less than 100 days to go for the 2026 T20 World Cup, fans are furious with the BCCI, ICC, and Sri Lanka Cricket for not announcing the full schedule and venues. The lack of clarity has left many unsure about their travel and ticket plans.

The T20 World Cup is set to begin on February 7 and end with the final on March 8, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Beyond these dates, no official details have been shared, leaving fans frustrated and uncertain about logistics.

Fans Recall 2023 World Cup Chaos

Many still remember the 2023 World Cup, when ticket announcements came barely 100 days before the event. Frequent schedule changes forced fans to make last-minute arrangements, leading to confusion and inflated travel and hotel costs.

Other Cricket Boards Set Higher Standard

In comparison, boards like Cricket Australia and the ECB release their tournament schedules months in advance. Their transparency allows fans to plan early, ensuring smoother experiences and affordable bookings for major matches.

Confirmed Venues and City Line-Up

So far, only two venues are confirmed. The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host the final, while the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo will host the India vs Pakistan clash. Reports suggest Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Kolkata, Visakhapatnam, and Hyderabad will also host matches. Bengaluru might miss out, as the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium has yet to be cleared for major events.

Fans Vent Frustration Online

Fans are voicing their anger on social media. “This is really frustrating,” one said. “Every time there’s a World Cup in India, the schedule comes out so late that hotel and flight prices shoot up.” Their patience is wearing thin.

Fans Demand Schedule Announcement

With only a few months left, fans are urging the BCCI and ICC to release the full schedule immediately. Without it, many feel the excitement of the World Cup is being overshadowed by stress and uncertainty instead of celebration.
