Royal Challengers Bengaluru are facing an off-field concern ahead of IPL 2026. Their pacer Yash Dayal has not joined the team camp. His absence has raised uncertainty within the camp.
The team began practice on March 20. Key players, including Virat Kohli, were present. However, Dayal was missing, and his absence was noticeable even in team visuals.
RCB are set to face Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 28. As of now, there is no clarity on whether Dayal will be available for the opening match.
Yash Dayal has not played any cricket since the IPL 2025 final between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings. Since then, he has remained out of action.
Serious allegations have surfaced against him after the final. Due to the ongoing case, he was not selected for Uttar Pradesh cricket team in domestic tournaments.
Reports suggest that officials have been unable to contact him for months. Even his coach is reportedly unaware of his whereabouts. It is also believed that he has changed his phone number.
At the same time, a recent Instagram story shared by his wife showed him practising. However, the location did not appear to be Bengaluru.
The case against him is under legal process. A complaint filed in Jaipur accuses him of physical abuse of a minor and making false promises related to cricket opportunities.
So far, there has been no official statement from RCB or the player. With the IPL season approaching, the situation remains uncertain for the team.
