Superstar’s First Blockbuster After 6 Years

Ajith Kumar Good Bad Ugly Blockbuster

Ajith Kumar’s most anticipated Good Bad Ugly (GBU), directed by Adhik Ravichandran, was finally released on April 10th and has received mixed responses from the audience.

Despite the reviews, many viewers commented that GBU may not be for general audiences, but it will work for Ajith Kumar fans as it is a mass masala entertainer with peak elevations for the actor.

According to trade experts, GBU has collected around 75 crores worldwide in the first two days of its theatrical run, and if the same trend continues, it may cross around 140–150 crores in its first weekend.

Additionally, GBU is all set to achieve blockbuster status — after Viswasam (2019) — for Ajith Kumar, and the bookings for GBU this weekend in Tamil Nadu look rock solid. At the same time, despite its strong performance in Tamil Nadu, GBU is performing averagely in other markets.

However, for the first three to four days, the theaters will be filled with Ajith Kumar’s fans, and by next week, only the general audience will come to theaters to watch the movie.

If GBU works well for the general audience, then it has the potential to become the actor’s highest-grossing movie of his career.

It remains to be seen how GBU will perform at the box office in the coming days and whether it will emerge as the highest-grossing movie of the actor’s career, surpassing Thunivu.
