Ajith Kumar’s Good Bad Ugly has proved that the superstar has truly bounced back after the failure of Vidaamuyarchi. The film is doing well at the box office and has managed to leave an impression on the audience of Tamil Nadu.
The numbers have also been better compared to other big Tamil films released since last year. Good Bad Ugly recorded an opening of Rs. 28 crores compared to Vidaamuyarchi, which was able to collect Rs. 25 crores. However, the numbers dropped to Rs. 14.5 crores by Day 2.

The drop number was higher than Thalapathy Vijay’s GOAT and Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan, where the former recorded Rs. 21 crores on the second day and the latter was at Rs. 16.5 crores.
The collections of GBU witnessed a rise by Day 3 by Rs. 2 crores, which, despite being less than GOAT’s figure of Rs. 27 crores, managed to give a rise to Rs. 23.5 crores as soon as the film reached the fourth day. However, the Day 4 figures were still low compared to GOAT’s Rs. 27.25 crores.

With no big competition in the upcoming weeks, the GBU might be able to recover its budget of Rs. 300 crores. The collections are expected to witness another boost on the weekends.
