AR Murugadoss, after the failure of Sikandar, is now preparing for his comeback with Sivakarthikeyan’s Madharasi, scheduled for a worldwide release on September 5. His recent interview, where he explained the reasons behind Sikandar’s failure, has gone viral and sparked discussions online.
He revealed that the story of Sikandar was close to his heart, but he could not execute it as he had envisioned. Murugadoss accepted that he alone is responsible for the film not working and did not shy away from taking accountability for its failure.
He also explained that while Ghajini was a remake, it was treated as a straight film with a strong team behind it. In contrast, Sikandar suffered because he did not have a commanding unit, and the story he originally envisioned was changed, affecting the film’s outcome, though he stressed he remains accountable.
Following the interview, some netizens speculated that Salman Khan might have influenced Sikandar’s outcome. Although Murugadoss did not mention any names, many argued that Salman Khan had the power to alter the script, which could have impacted the final product. These claims, however, remain online speculation.
Despite the debate, it remains to be seen whether AR Murugadoss will make a strong comeback with Madharasi. With Sivakarthikeyan in the lead, audiences are eagerly waiting to see if the director can deliver a successful film when it releases on September 5.
