Dhanush’s Idly Struggles: Fake Story for Sympathy?

Dhanush speech at Idly Kadai audio launch

Dhanush’s upcoming film Idly Kadai had its grand audio launch yesterday in Chennai. During his speech, Dhanush revealed the story behind the film’s title, sparking a heated debate across social media platforms.

Dhanush said that as a child, he wished to eat idlis daily but his family could not afford them. He and his sisters worked part-time jobs to earn money and buy idlis from a roadside shop.

He added that even today, restaurant idlis do not give him the same happiness and taste as those from his childhood. He revealed that Idly Kadai is inspired by these personal experiences.

Following the viral video of his speech, some users criticised Dhanush and questioned his claims. They pointed out that his father was an assistant director and suggested he was creating a fake sympathy story to win over fans.

Dhanush’s fans quickly defended him, stating that he was born in 1983 while his father became an assistant director only in 1991. They argued that the family did experience poverty during his early years.

Fans also pointed out that several celebrities close to the family have confirmed their struggles in past interviews. They believe that targeted hate spreads whenever Dhanush shares personal stories, and this criticism is another attempt to tarnish his image.

Despite the backlash, Dhanush’s speech has gone viral, with many users sharing their opinions and debating his childhood experiences online.
