Following the failure of Kara, Dhanush is currently working on a spy action thriller tentatively titled D55, directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy. The film’s shoot is progressing rapidly, with the makers reportedly aiming for an October release.
Apart from D55, Dhanush has several projects lined up, including announced collaborations with Mari Selvaraj and Tamizharasan Pachamuthu. However, reports suggest that the actor is prioritising his proposed project with Siruthai Siva ahead of some of his other commitments.
According to industry reports, the Dhanush and Siruthai Siva collaboration has nearly been finalised. It is believed that Dhanush was impressed by Siruthai Siva’s script, and the film is expected to begin production in January under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers.
After Kara failed to meet expectations, a section of Dhanush’s fans criticised the actor for consistently choosing content-driven rural entertainers. Some fans argued that he should explore more commercial entertainers and even trended hashtags on social media to express their views.
