Following the success of the Bollywood film Tere Ishk Mein, Dhanush has completed the shooting of his next film tentatively titled D54. The film is directed by Vignesh Raja.
At the same time, Dhanush has begun pre-production work on two upcoming projects. D55 is being directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy. D56 will be directed by Tamizharasan Pachamuthu.
Yesterday, Vels Film International, the production house backing D54, shared images from the final day of shooting. The team officially confirmed that the film has wrapped. These pictures quickly went viral across social media platforms.
After the D54 wrap party images surfaced online, many fans praised Dhanush’s dedication. Despite being a leading actor in the Kollywood industry, he has delivered three releases in the last six months. These films span three different languages.
His recent releases include Kuberaa, Idli Kadai and Tere Ishk Mein. Since Idli Kadai was also directed by Dhanush himself, fans have expressed surprise at his relentless work ethic.
However, there is also criticism from a section of the audience. Some feel that while Dhanush is working tirelessly, his recent script choices have not been strong enough. They believe his last few films failed to create an impact and affected his market in Tamil Nadu.
Despite this debate, expectations for D54 remain positive among Kollywood audiences. Director Vignesh Raja’s debut film Por Thozhil was a blockbuster success. It now remains to be seen whether D54 can meet expectations, emerge as a hit, and help Dhanush reclaim his market in Tamil cinema.
