Ajith Kumar’s Vidaamuyarchi, which was released on February 6th, was also dubbed and released in Hindi, but it wasn’t released in North Indian multiplexes as Vidaamuyarchi’s OTT rights deal was locked with a 4-week window.
Vidaamuyarchi was not up to expectations, and Hindi audiences weren’t even aware of its Hindi version’s OTT release, as there wasn’t any buzz for the movie’s OTT debut.

They commented that just like how Mythri Movie Makers is now staging a grand release for GBU, Studio Green Productions also staged a grand release for Kanguva, but the movie ended up as a terrible disaster—and the rest is history.
They added that Mythri Movie Makers should think twice before staging a grand North Indian multiplex release for GBU, as it requires a huge distribution amount, and Ajith Kumar’s last movie, Vidaamuyarchi, was a terrible disaster.
However, it looks like Ajith Kumar’s GBU is going to have a grand theatrical release, and we have to wait and see whether it meets audience expectations and helps Ajith Kumar make a solid comeback after the setback from Vidaamuyarchi.
