Dhanush, following the box office success of Raayan, is now awaiting the release of his next film, Kubera, directed by Sekhar Kammula. The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on June 20th.
Yesterday, the Kubera team released the official teaser in five languages: Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, and Kannada. It has received positive responses from audiences.
Following the teaser, netizens on social media commented that Kubera looks promising. The teaser suggests it’s a high-octane thriller with masterclass performances from Dhanush and Nagarjuna.
Starting with Naane Varuven, Dhanush’s last four movies have received mixed responses. While Vaathi/Sir was a super hit in Telugu, it didn’t connect with Tamil audiences due to its strong Telugu flavor.
Captain Miller and Raayan also received mixed reactions, and Dhanush’s performances in these films went largely unnoticed.
Following these back-to-back underwhelming releases, Kollywood audiences—after watching the Kubera teaser—believe that this film could be a breakthrough in Dhanush’s challenging phase.
However, it remains to be seen whether Kubera becomes a blockbuster success or ends up as a fifth straight miss for Dhanush upon its release.
