The trailer of Anupama Parameswaran’s female centric film Lockdown released a few days ago. It has been receiving mixed reactions from viewers. Many felt the trailer was not impressive and did not offer anything fresh.
Several comments pointed to weak production quality. Viewers said that only strong content can help the film perform well. They also warned that it could turn into a disaster if the story does not hold.
Lockdown is produced by Lyca Productions. It is Anupama Parameswaran‘s seventh release this year. The film is set for a worldwide theatrical release on December 5th.
Anupama Parameswaran scored three solid hits this year. But none of them pushed her into the spotlight, as they were male driven films. Her female centric films, on the other hand, have not worked well.
Lyca Productions is also facing a dull phase after the disaster of Indian 2. The banner is now relying on Lockdown and on Sigma, the directorial debut of Vijay’s son Jason Sanjay.
However, Lockdown is already carrying low buzz. The recently released trailer failed to attract attention and did not connect with the audience.
It remains to be seen if Lockdown can surprise with a strong run. The film could turn into a much needed breakthrough for Anupama Parameswaran or become another setback for Lyca Productions when it releases on December 5th.
