Mammootty’s Bazooka FDFS Response: Blast or Misfire

Mammootty Bazooka

Mammootty’s Bazooka, directed by debutant Deeno Dennis, landed in theatres with sky-high expectations—but early reactions show a mixed bag.

While some lauded its unique visual style and electrifying climax, others criticized its inconsistent storytelling and technical shortcomings.

The first half of the film received decent praise for setting up an intriguing plot with a slow-burn narrative. Mammootty’s stylish avatar, a slick title card entry, and a punchy interval block had fans cheering. However, others found the initial pacing dull and the build-up underwhelming.

Where Bazooka truly found its footing, according to many, was in its final 20-30 minutes. Social media buzzed with praise for Mammootty’s screen presence and Saeed Abbas’ impactful background score that elevated the climax to “stadium mode” intensity. Fans described the last act as a “killing climax.”

However, not all responses were glowing. Some viewers felt the second half lost momentum, with predictable twists and patchy execution.

Fans pointed out poor integration of the gaming concept, subpar casting, loud BGM, and uneven pacing that diluted the overall impact. One harsh take even branded Bazooka as “the worst Mammootty film post-COVID.”

Despite polarizing opinions, Bazooka has found favor with a section of fans for its experimental style and bold vision, while others await stronger cohesion from Deeno Dennis in the future.

The film has taken a decent start at the Malayalam box office with first day collections around 3 crores gross.
