Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi, directed by Sudha Kongara, is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release on January 10th. With only days left, the team has finally begun promotional activities to build awareness around the Pongal release.
The film is clashing with Vijay’s last film Jana Nayagan this Pongal. Such a major clash demands strong pre release buzz. However, apart from discussions around the clash, Parasakthi is currently seeing limited ground-level excitement among audiences.
Amid this situation, strong speculation suggests that Dawn Pictures is planning a grand audio launch to boost buzz. Reports claim Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, Superstar Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan may attend the event at Nehru Outdoor Stadium on January 3rd.
Earlier, the release was not seen as a major clash due to Sivakarthikeyan’s comparatively smaller star power against Vijay. The rumoured presence of top Kollywood stars has changed perceptions, with some viewing it as a political move rather than a cinematic strategy.
Vijay fans believe the situation now resembles a clash between political parties instead of films. Parasakthi is being distributed by Red Giant Movies, the ruling DMK party’s production house, which has added fuel to the controversy.
According to fans, political influence is being used to gain support from Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. They feel this strategy aims to impact Jana Nayagan’s theatrical run during the crucial Pongal window.
There has been no official confirmation so far regarding the audio launch guests. It remains to be seen whether Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan will attend and whether their presence can significantly boost Parasakthi against Vijay’s Jana Nayagan.
