At the same time, Sardar 2, directed by P. S. Mithran, has already completed shooting. However, there is still no official update on its release date.
The film faced several delays during production. Karthi suffered an injury while shooting an action sequence. There was also a tragic incident involving stuntman Elumalai, which further slowed progress.
Although filming was completed by mid last year, financial issues are reportedly causing delays. These problems have pushed back the release timeline of the film.
The first part, Sardar, was a big success in both Tamil and Telugu markets. This has created high expectations for Sardar 2. A glimpse released in 2024 had also increased excitement among fans.
However, the long delay has started affecting the buzz. Audience anticipation is slowly reducing as there is no clear update from the makers.
Reports suggest that Sardar 2 might release before Marshal. The team is said to be working to resolve issues and bring the film to theatres soon.
Even if the problems are sorted out quickly, finding a release slot is not easy. Films like Suriya’s Karuppu and Vishwanath & Sons, along with Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2, are lined up between May and July.
