During his recent interview, popular distributor Tirupur Subramaniam criticised Yash’s recently released film Toxic and his remarks are now going viral on social media, sparking heated discussions.
Tirupur Subramaniam stated that grand visuals alone cannot bring audiences to theatres. Furthermore, he pointed to the terrible failure of Toxic and suggested that it is the best example that spectacular visuals alone cannot guarantee theatrical success.
He also mentioned that Toxic’s terrible failure has shocked the entire trade circle and now distributors are afraid to bet on huge pan-Indian films.
In response to these comments by Tirupur Subramaniam, many people on social media are agreeing that what he said is true. They claimed that nowadays, in the name of making pan-Indian biggies, directors are focusing only on spectacular visuals instead of a solid plot.
Also, they feel that audiences are no longer interested in witnessing only grand visuals. Hence, they noted that instead of spending crores of rupees just to create spectacular visuals, directors should concentrate on delivering a solid film with a gripping screenplay.
Meanwhile, a few people feel that Toxic has heavily affected Yash‘s reputation and suggested that he now needs a solid comeback to reclaim his throne, noting that he has almost lost the huge fan base he earned through the success of the KGF franchise.
Nonetheless, distributor Tirupur Subramaniam’s comments on the failure of Toxic continue to go viral on social media and many people are sharing their reactions to them.
