After the pan-Indian success of Marco which collected more than 100 crores worldwide gross, expectations were high for Unni Mukundan’s next venture, Get-Set Baby. However, the comedy-drama is failing miserably at the box office.
On its seventh day, the film earned around 10 lakhs, a steep 50% drop from the 20 lakh it collected on the previous day. With this, the total India net collection stands at a disappointing 1.9 crore, struggling even to cross the 2 crores mark after a full week of release.
Even worse, none of its daily earnings have touched 1 crore, signaling a massive rejection from the audience.
Comparisons with Marco make the film’s failure even more shocking. Unni Mukundan’s last hit had earned 30 crores in just seven days, meaning Get-Set Baby is trailing by a shocking 93%.
With such disastrous numbers, the film desperately needs a miraculous turnaround through strong word of mouth.
Adding to its woes, the movie is facing tough competition from recent Mollywood releases like Bromance, Painkili, and Daveed.
Directed by Vinay Govind, Get-Set Baby stars Nikhila Vimal, Chemban Vinod Jose, and Shyam Mohan in key roles. Music by Sam CS also hasn’t been received well.
