Karthi’s Vaa Vaathiyaar Suffers Another Massive Blow?

Karthi in Vaa Vaathiyaar film

Vaa Vaathiyaar, starring Karthi, has suffered another major setback. The film was initially planned for a December 12th release. However, an interim stay issued by the High Court forced the makers to postpone the release.

The film is directed by Nalan Kumarasamy and produced by KE Gnanavel Raja. Earlier reports claimed that Amazon Prime Video had urged the producer to release the film before the month ended. Otherwise, the OTT agreement would be canceled.

To meet this condition, the makers attempted to lock December 25th as a Christmas release. However, fresh reports now state that the High Court has refused to lift the interim stay. As a result, the film will not arrive during Christmas.

Due to this delay, Amazon Prime has reportedly canceled the OTT deal for Vaa Vaathiyaar. With the digital rights now uncertain, the theatrical release is expected to be pushed by a few more months. No official confirmation has been issued yet.

Meanwhile, Karthi’s fans have reacted strongly on social media. Many have criticised KE Gnanavel Raja and blamed him for the repeated delays. Some fans have even urged him to stop producing films.

Trade buzz around the film has also started to fade because of continuous postponements. Industry trackers feel that even after release, the film may struggle to open well. They believe it can survive only if the word of mouth turns out to be exceptionally positive.

For now, everything remains uncertain. It is still unclear when Vaa Vaathiyaar will finally hit theatres and whether it can overcome these hurdles to emerge as a blockbuster.
